Early Childhood Education Major, BS

Students in field experiences will be required to complete a criminal background check through the MUW Office of Field Experiences. Students are required to meet with their faculty advisor to schedule classes and discuss degree requirements, see Section 10.4.

Teacher Education Majors are required to pass the following courses with a C or higher as part of their major and their Enlight Core Curriculum.

In order for MUW to recommend licensure, ALL required professional education courses must be taken at MUW.

Repeat Coursework:


Starting August 2020, undergraduate education students may repeat any education or core required course once. Students who do not meet the minimum grade requirements after two attempts will no longer be eligible to continue in their program, based on each program’s standards. This policy applies to all current and new students in the Early Childhood Education (BS), Elementary Education (BS), and the former Early Childhood Development (BS) majors.

Re-Admission:


Undergraduate education students must retake any MUW education course with an ED prefix if it was completed more than five before the most recent MUW Undergraduate Bulletin.

Total degree hours required = 120 semester hours
