MUW’s Master of Business Administration degree is designed to develop the skills required for careers in business; however, the program is not limited strictly to the business world. It is a beneficial degree choice for working professionals who need to obtain additional education to reach their occupational goals. It prepares students to work in a wide range of industries and professions.
The program teaches students to become progressive business leaders that can analyze a situation and create effective practical solutions. Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are emphasized. The MBA provides a graduate education in foundational business practices, such as accounting, finance, management information systems, marketing and management. The comprehensive MBA core curriculum builds the foundation necessary for success in any field, while electives offer insight into specialized areas of expertise.

Admission Requirements and Procedures:
See Graduate Admissions Procedures in this Bulletin for information regarding admission requirements, dates and procedures.
Additional Requirements and Procedures for the Master of Business Administration Program:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on all undergraduate coursework (the GPA on the last sixty (60) hours bears no additional consideration)
- Minimum score of 400 on the GMAT or scaled GRE examination (within five years prior to application)
- Earn a C or above in the following coursework: Principles of Economics I (or II), Principles of Accounting I, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Management, Information Technology course
- Submit three recommendations with an overall recommendation of “Recommend” or higher. Recommendations should attest to applicant’s academic ability, work experience, and character
- Graduate Business Essay (Three essays related to student’s statement of purpose, creativity/entrepreneurship and ability to think ethically and critically
- Resume detailing skills, educational experience, and work experience (with a particular emphasis on relevant work experience and managerial/supervisory experiences).
Curriculum Requirements:
In addition to the general degree requirements (See Academic Policies and Procedures in the Graduate Bulletin and curriculum requirements noted below), the student must successfully complete the following:
MBA Core: (24 Semester Hours)
Elective Courses: (12 Semester Hours)
Global Commerce Emphasis Area
MBA students seeking an Emphasis in Global Commerce must complete the following electives:
Total Hours for Master of Business Administration: 36 Semester Hours
Note: Graduate-degree credit is granted only for graduate-level courses in which the student earns an A, B, or C. No more than six semester hours of graduate credit evaluated as C may be applied toward any graduate program, whether degree or non-degree.
To remain in good standing, the student must maintain a minimum 3.0 MUW cumulative GPA on all graduate courses attempted with no more than two grades of C, with no grade of D, and with no grade of F.
