ED 404 - Teacher Internship: Early ChildhoodCredits: 9
Prerequisite: ED 435 - Education Residency III Prerequisite/Corequisite: ED 421 - Assessment Methods in Early Childhood
This course provides immersive teaching experience in an early childhood classroom setting, in a state-approved collaborative or an early education school or center that is accredited by NAEYC or approved by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), under the mentorship of qualified Mentor Teachers and MUW University Supervisors. Teacher Interns participate in regular individual conferences with both their Mentor Teacher and University Supervisor to support their professional growth and development. Scheduled five days a week during the Professional Semester, the course includes three mandatory Internship Seminars. Teacher Interns adhere to the schedule and calendar of their Mentor Teacher and are required to complete a minimum of 480 hours in the classroom.
Note: This course may be repeated for a total of 18 hours.
