COM 294 - Media Literacy Education

Credits: 3

Media literacy is the ability to encode and decode the symbols transmitted via media and the ability to synthesize, analyze and produce mediated messages. Media literacy education involves teaching the skills associated with media literacy and addresses the interdependent nature and impact of media content and communication technology on self and others. The primary focus of this course will be the role of media and technology in early childhood development but will address media effects and use across a variety of contexts.
