ED 297 - Instructional Technology I

Credits: 3

This hands-on course gives future teachers the skills needed to use computers as instructional tools.  This is a broad introductory 3-hour course with emphasis on the basic functions of a computer as an aid to foster learning in the classroom.  The course includes how a computer works, basic networking, the Web, the Internet, security and privacy and device peripherals.  Students develop classroom projects and assignments that infuse computer aided technologies within their lessons using digital learning tools such as portfolio and other software applications.  Students also learn the techniques of internet searches and software evaluation.
