This course will cover diagnostic criteria used to identify individuals with ASD as well as possible etiologies of ASD; assessment and intervention considerations; and the selection and use of appropriate screening & evaluation tools and evidence-based intervention strategies. The course will also focus on developing an understanding of the role of families of individuals with ASD in consideration of their cultural values and beliefs and how to counsel and collaborate with these families as well as professionals who work with individuals with ASD.
