TESL Certificate Program

TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) prepares students to teach English to non-native speakers. A junior or senior level status is required, and 6 hours of English must be taken before beginning work on a TESL Certificate. Note: The TESL Certificate program is approved by MDE for an Add-On TESL certificate.

Program Requirements: (12 Semester Hours)

Select two of the following:
EN 302 - History and Structure of the English Language
or
EN 305 - Applied Linguistics
or
EN 402 - TESL Internship
Required Courses: Select two
EN 341 - Teaching English as a Second Language
EN 342 - Second Language Acquisition
