Concentrations:


For the K-6 licensure programs, all above requirements must be met. In addition, two areas of concentration must be completed, with a minimum of 18 semester hours in each area, and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. Concentrations include: English, General Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies.

For the K-6 program, with add-on endorsements in two areas of concentration, all above requirements must be met. In addition, two areas of concentration must be completed. A minimum of 21 semester hours in each, with a minimum grade of “C” in each course must be met for the following add-on certifications: English (7-12); General Science (7-12); Mathematics (7-12); and Social Studies (7-12).

A 7-12 institutional add-on endorsement in mathematics is available. Students should see and education advisor for the specific required MUW courses for the 7-12 mathematics endorsement

K-3 licensure program, all above requirements in addition to ED 297 and ED 307. No concentration courses required.

K-6 licensure programs, all above requirements. In addition, two areas of concentration must be completed, with a minimum of 18 semester hours in each area, and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. Concentration areas include: English, General Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies.

K-6 program with add-on 7-12 and/or 7-8 endorsements in two area, all above requirements must be met. In addition, two areas of concentration must be completed with a minimum of 21 semester hours in each, and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. Concentration areas include: (7-8) Mathematics; (7-12) English, General Science, Social Studies, Art Education, Bible, Business education, Drama (Performing Arts), French, Spanish, Physical Education, Journalism, Music Education Instrumental, Music Education Vocal, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Speech Communications, and Marketing. A 7-12 institutional add-on endorsement in mathematics is available. Students should see and education adviser for the specific required MUW course for the 7-12 mathematics endorsement.

Pre-K add-on endorsement, all above requirements must be met. Endorsement may add on to any of the above programs. Required courses: ED 307, 317, 319, and 320.

General Education-Special Subject Areas (Grades K-12 Music, Physical Education, Spanish and Theatre)


Teacher Licensure is offered in the following special subject areas: BM in Music Education, BS in Health and Kinesiology, B.A. in Spanish, and BA in Theatre Education, all with Teacher Certification requirements. For specific degree requirements, consult the section of the catalog for the Music, Health and Kinesiology, Spanish, and Theatre programs.

General Education - Secondary Subject Areas (Grades 7-12):

Licensure at the secondary level is offered for Biology, Physical Science Mathematics, English, and Social Studies. For specific degree requirements, consult the section of the catalog for the specific departments associated with each discipline.
