Required Women’s Studies Courses:

WS 500  and WS 501  must be taken concurrently as gateway courses.

• WS 500 - Leadership Inquiries, Research and Methodology
• WS 501 - Leadership Theory and Change Theory
• WS 502 - Seminar in Women’s Leadership Topics
• WS 510 - Practicum/Field Experience in Women’s Leadership
• WS 512 - Capstone Project/Thesis

Required Cross-Disciplinary Courses: (6 Semester Hours)

• HED 525 - Gender Issues in Health

• or

• NU 517 - Women’s Issues

• or

• MGT 510 - Cross-Culture Management

• and

• One Elective graduate course in Educational Leadership by permission of the Dean of Education (3 semester hours)

Cross-Disciplinary Electives: (9 Semester Hours, including 6 hours in Educational Leadership and 3 hours in one other area)

Elective courses require a research project or research paper which specifically addresses issues and policies affecting women and/or girls. The instructor will work with the student in selecting an appropriate topic or project.

• Any Educational Leadership graduate course by permission of the Dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences (3 semester hours)
