MA 112 - Modern Elementary Mathematics IICredits: 3
This course develops conceptual foundations in geometry, measurement, data analysis, and probability for K-6 instruction. Topics include geometric definitions and properties; two- and three-dimensional shapes; congruence and similarity; transformations; perimeter, area, volume, and unit conversions; data representation; descriptive statistics; and introductory probability. Candidates use visual, symbolic, and technological tools to reason mathematically and analyze student understanding.
Note: Elementary Education majors may take this course a maximum of two times and must earn a minimum grade of C.
