NU 573 - Assessment and Evaluation in Nursing Education

Credits: 3

The course prepares students to use a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, covering all domains of learning. Students will explore both formative and summative assessment methods to monitor and evaluate student progress. The course includes developing evidence-based assessment and evaluation practices using literature and implementing strategies suitable for cognitive, psychomotor, and effective domains. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of assessment data to enhance the teaching-learning process and on providing timely, constructive, and thoughtful feedback to learners. Techniques for data analysis to inform and improve educational practices will also be covered, enabling educators to make informed decisions based on assessment outcomes.

Note: Can be taken with any other PG-NEC courses, except the practicum course.
