NU 572 - Curriculum Development and Program Evaluation

Credits: 3

The course equips students with the essential skills for designing, implementing and evaluating nursing curricula. Students will learn to identify program outcomes, develop competency statements, write learning objectives, and select appropriate learning activities and evaluation strategies. Emphasis is placed on aligning curriculum design and implementation with sound educational principles, theory, and research. The course covers curriculum revision based on assessments of program outcomes, learner needs, and societal and healthcare trends, utilizing appropriate change theories. Additionally, students will learn to maintain community and clinical partnerships, collaborate with external constituencies, and provide program assessment and evaluation data to ensure continuous quality improvement of all aspects of the program.

Note: Can be taken with any other PG-NEC courses, except the practicum course.
