ED 390 - Classroom Management and Student Accommodations and InterventionsCredits: 3
The course is designed to examine basic effective classroom management practices for the K-12 learning environment. The course focus includes how to create a positive and inviting classroom culture in today’s inclusive classrooms, recognize techniques to foster desired behaviors, implement behavioral interventions, implement accommodations according to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), recognize effective instructional delivery techniques and professional educator attributes via the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics, which all work to develop responsibility, self-control, and character in P-12 students.
Note: 10 hours of field experience required for specialty and secondary education majors; Elementary Education majors must take this course with ED 367 for field experience; no exemptions will be granted.
For Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education majors: Minimum grade of C is required for this course. This course can only be taken twice.
