POL 375 - Applied Law for Religious & Other Nonprofits

Credits: 3

This course will explore one of the most significant issues in nonprofit law: jurisprudence surrounding the political activities and policy advocacy efforts nonprofit organizations often pursue in the course of advancing their mission. In addition, the course will pay special attention to the position of religious nonprofits, since these organizations are a special category of nonprofit organization and are increasingly engaged in US politics. The course will be applied rather than strictly theoretical, featuring student engagements with nonprofits.
