This course concentrates on Africa south of the Sahara. By the instructor’s choice this course may focus on a particular temporal period (eg. ancient, colonial, independence, etc.), a specific region (eg. West Africa, Swahili Coast, etc.) or a specific theme (eg. Trade and commerce, religion, colonialism etc.)
