The Library provides students with services, resources, spaces, and tools to facilitate continued personal, civic, and intellectual growth after graduation.
Digital Studies:
In the 21st century, the value of communication information and data is a high priority for almost every profession. Fant Memorial Library offers an interdisciplinary minor in Digital Studies, focusing on skills and theory related to Digital Scholarship as it may be applied across several disciplines. The Digital Studies minor focuses on these skills by giving students from any major an opportunity to tell their own story, solve a problem they’ve identified, or ask a unique question using digital resources. The minor allows students from any discipline to use the coursework for their major to learn about representing objects, people, and content in a digital environment; create a project related to their major and share it with potential employers or graduate schools; and gain hands-on experience with digital tools that manipulate, visualize, and translate data and digital artifacts. This minor does not require any prior experience with coding or computer science.
