Bachelor of Arts Foreign Language Courses

One or both of the following 100-level Foreign Language classes may be required as a prerequisite for the 200-level classes in the language, depending on a student’s placement based on prior study of a language. Students with no prior knowledge of a foreign language should beging with 101.

• FLF 101 - French I 
• FLF 102 - French II 
• FLF 103 - Intensive Elementary French  (Completes two semesters of the language in one semester, 6 semester hours)
• FLS 101 - Spanish I
   
• FLS 102 - Spanish II
   
• FLS 103 - Intensive Elementary Spanish
    (Completes two semesters of the language in one semester, 6 semester hours)

Students who place out of the first year of a foreign language may begin at the 200-level. A minimum of 6 hours at this level are required for the Bachelor of Arts Degree. Higher-numbered classes may also be counted toward the degree for students who place higher than 201.

• FLF 202 - French IV 
• (Completes two semesters of the language in one semester, 6 semester hours)
• (Completes two semesters of the language in one semester, 6 semester hours)

Students may also transfer in hours of another language not offered by MUW. The same requirements apply: a minimum of 6 hours must be at the second-year level.
